A thigh prosthesis is one of the most complex types of prosthetics because its design requires:

  • anticipating and calculating functional dynamic loads for the knee joint;
  • achieving full synchronization of movements between the healthy leg and the prosthesis, not only at the ankle but also at the knee joint, which involves precise adjustment above and below the knee;
  • using a reliable attachment system to the thigh, with shorter stumps requiring more complex attachments;
  • applying a thoughtful system for transferring muscle effort from the stump to the entire prosthesis.

A unique component is the socket, which is cast from soft materials for the customer according to a complete three-dimensional model of the anatomical and physiological characteristics of the amputation site. Additionally, modular prostheses allow for the installation of different types of feet suitable for various activities—anatomical for everyday wear, shock-absorbing for running, and reinforced for other types of activity.

Our prosthetics center offers modern thigh prostheses made from high-quality foreign components and materials. Thanks to the combination of advanced manufacturing technology and an individualized approach to each patient in fitting and rehabilitation, a thigh prosthesis not only effectively performs the function of a healthy leg during walking but also looks aesthetically pleasing. Users can swim, run, bear weight, squat, and engage in other physical activities.
