A little bit about us

Ukrainian Center for Rehabilitation of Afghanistan Veterans

We do everything to ensure that people with physical disabilities feel like a full part of society!

The "Ukrainian Rehabilitation Center for Afghan War Veterans" was established in 1991 at the initiative of Afghan war veterans, disabled individuals, and the relatives of the deceased to provide Afghan disabled veterans with prostheses for upper and lower limbs. In 1994, the project was supported by the Soros International Foundation and the Counterpart International Development Agency. The center's prosthetic and orthopedic workshop is equipped with the latest equipment.

Our specialists use prosthetic construction schemes, which consist of a set of basic parameters that determine the mutual arrangement of nodes and the entire prosthetic relative to the patient's musculoskeletal system. The construction schemes of hand and leg prostheses take into account individual characteristics of a person: weight, height, level of amputation, gender, and age features. By using removable or built-in adjustment devices, the center's specialists make corrections to each prosthetic construction scheme during fittings.
